My name was Dhanushka Akalanka. But the people who knew me by that name are already dead. I’m captain Dra now. The leader of the resistance of third human colony in west side. In here we have 35 families with not enough supplies and facilities. In each day, we are clearing the sites and look for foods and medicines. Some people must be out there hiding in a cave or shelter or some must be slaving to these heartless robots.

I still remember how this was all began like it was yesterday. 10 years ago, I woke up as usual. When I was going downstairs my mother had been preparing our breakfast and my father had been watching Television. “The Next Gen Tech company has launched their first fully functioning automatic Nano-carbon A.I. robot, X2000.” Said from the news on TV. My father said” look, they have finally done it. A fully functioning robot. Just think how easy our lives would be in the future with this robot.” Yes, father I can’t imagine.” I spoke.

Two weeks later The Next Gen Tech company had sent their robots to every market place in all over the country. Not only in local, they had shipped their product all over the world. It did get very popular at the time. Therefor Next Gen Tech company developed their product. If I say how much their robot got popular, they launched X2001, X2002 and X2003 at the same year.

The robot’s programming was so sophisticated and complex. Company had been continuously sending updates for robots. One day by an accident they sent a code to deactivate robot’s self-destruct mode and make the decisions all by itself without asking permission. Since then, chaos had begun. They interfered with everything. They didn’t care about what humans want. At the beginning military had done their part great but the number of robots was too much and they were somehow be able to updated themselves. After that the government had nothing to do to end this chaos therefor the government had been overthrown by the robots.

They took human as their pets. They took my parents and I managed to escape. That was the last time I saw my parents. Ever since I lived running and hiding. Robots were everywhere. Then I found Tim and Cara. They both were my age. Then we started to live together and take down the small groups of robots and looted them. Since then, we started to fight back.

we showed them who we are by taking main outpost in west side. we took street-fight gangs and some ex-military solders to our side. to fight with robots. We started to protect helpless families, children and refugees. We supplied them food, medicines and some place to be.

Now we are stronger than we before. X2000 series robots are no more. There developed their own kind. X9000 max is the latest version now. They are faster, 100% accurate, 0% system failures and they can think like humans. We took over another small outpost of robots’ yesterday. That’s the reason why they fought with us lately. Life is so hard in here. We have to provide food and medicines to the families we have. To do that we have to search for food sources and medicines in outside our border in everyday unless we are doomed. Besides that, I have to think about combat strategies in case of an attack. Communication system is on their hands therefor we can’t contact other countries. In fact, I think other countries also have been conquered by robots. But we still have radio communication. Cara is still communicating with other colonies and sometimes they are worn us about robots’ attacks. We are doing our best to survive. Who would have thought such a day like this come to our lives.
